Did I make a mistake by using RedHat 9? Should I rebuild with SuSe?
I replaced our internet server and (for some insane reason) I chose to use the unsupported RedHat 9. Now, I am noticing HTTP performance is slow. The graphics are very slow to load.
The old RedHat 7.1, Pentium III, 700 MHz server w/software RAID is faster than the new 3.0 GHz Xeon, hardware RAID, RedHat 9.0 server. The application has not changed, however a few old databases have been removed.
Another big change occurred too. Don't scream. But, we changed ISPs. I am not discounting the fact that our new ISP could be at fault, but it appears that the network/port is trace routing well (from the server). So, I *think* it is safe to say that the server/network/ISP is performing up to specification. FYI--I acheived 700Kb/s downloading updates from the server.
Is it my operating system and Domino 6.0.3? Any recommendations? Help me! I want to keep my job!
